HESAA and the Public Service Electric Gas Company Foundation are pleased to announce the selection of five recipients of the Dana Christmas Scholarship for Heroism.

 

 

Highly rated by Moody's and Fitch Rating agencies, HESAA issued $280 million in tax exempt bonds last month to support the NJCLASS loan program.

Enacted by the Legislature in 1997, the NJBEST program provides an effective vehicle for New Jersey families to begin saving for their children’s college expenses.

The New Jersey Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (HESAA) has worked constructively with, among others, the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) towards strengthening and improving the Authority’s operations.

Trenton, NJ - Established by the New Jersey Legislature in 1991, the New Jersey College Loans to Assist State Students (NJCLASS) program has helped hundreds of thousands of New Jersey students meet the costs of a college education.

The New Jersey Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (HESAA) has been working closely with New Jersey college students to provide comprehensive financial literacy education.

The Summer 2008 HESAA Newsletter will be the last issue to be released in paper.  Beginning with the Fall Newsletter, in our efforts to become more "green," all future newsletters will be electronic.

The New Jersey Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (HESAA) is pleased to announce that the NJCLASS Loan Program will be offered for the 2008-09 academic year. With rates as low as 7.62%, NJCLASS is available to New Jersey residents and out of state students attending a New Jersey college.

Affording a higher education is a foremost concern shared by many families.  To meet this growing cost, the New Jersey Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (HESAA) recommends saving for college as early as possible.  One option, the New Jersey Better Education Savings Trust, or NJBEST, is New Jersey’s 529 college savings program. 

Paying for college may not be the most popular aspect of pursuing higher education, but students and parents have something to celebrate.  As of July 1st, 2008, Federal Stafford Loans and PLUS Loans have undergone important changes, making them more appealing for borrowers.
